Feb. 20 (Bloomberg) -- London City Airport closed its runway early today after tires on an Air France-KLM Group SA plane burst on landing. The 55 passengers and five crew on the plane were taken safely to the terminal after the tires burst at about 8:35 a.m.

A twin-engine plane sustained moderate damage when it landed at Mathis Field on Tuesday after reporting landing gear that was not working properly. Two people were on board the plane, said Al Elliott, airport chief of operations and acting manager.
